Accounting Manager
SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising the accounting department and all areas relating to financial reporting. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, month-end closing, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities
RESPONSIBILITIES

Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

month-end and end-year process
-
accounts payable/receivable
-
cash receipts
-
general ledger
-
payroll and utilities
-
cash forecasting
-
revenue and expenditure variance analysis
-
capital assets reconciliations
-
check runs
-
fixed asset activity
-
debt activity
-
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
-
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
-
Coordinate and complete annual audits
-
Provide recommendations
-
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
-
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
-
Meet financial accounting objectives
-
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
-
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.

Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
-
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
-
Experience with a software system implementation is a plus
-
Experience with Microsoft Dynamic NAV is preferred

Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

Ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking large projects

Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)
